B+Ps vs Ps E-book: Basic Endings E-book: Bishop Endgames

Let us take a look now at another critical position with the black king outside the safe zone. This position with the black king in the centre was elaborated in great detail by V. Rauzer, 1928. White wins whoever has the move! When White has the move, the path to victory is much simpler in view of the fact that Black is already cut off along the diagonal b8-h2, so his round-about manoeuvre from the right flank will come too late, whilst the white king will prevent him from penetrating towards the a8-square from the left flank.
