E-book: Pawn Endgames K+3P vs K+2P


In tournament play very often arise endings of three pawns against two pawns on the same wing. Although the stronger side in such cases cannot attack from either flank, it will still win provided its pawn structure is sound. Let us first examine a general case where the black pawns have already left their initial squares. The position is won whoever has the move.
