Composed Studies E-book: Pawn Endgames K+3P vs K+3P

The pawn majority is at its most dangerous when through breakthrough a “rim” passed pawn may be created. An excellent example of the superiority of the “rim” passed pawn over the distant passed pawn was elaborated by N. Grigoriev in a study published in 1934. However, the win is not simple since Black’s unexpected defence by stalemate has to be prevented as well.
