Composed Studies E-book: Basic Endings E-book: Pawn Endgames King and Pawn versus King and Pawn

The motif of restraining the king’s activity for the sake of gaining a tempo may arise in positions with “mobile” pawns as well. This is beautifully demonstrated in a study by I. Moravec, published in 1950. Since White is one step nearer to the enemy pawn and also has the move, the win seems rather basic.
