ChessEndgames.net is an educational chess portal written by grandmasters, FIDE titled players and chess trainers. Complete Chess Endgames for all chess players – beginners, amateurs and professionals.
When one pawn is far behind, the game usually comes down to fight against more advanced pawn. If it is c(f) or a rook pawn then in some cases existence of the other pawn can be a burden for Black because he loses stalemate defense possibility. We can see a simple case of that kind in the diagram!
Vlado Kovacevic is a chess grandmaster and an endgame expert. He very successfully competed on the national team. From 2000 – 2004, he acted as selector of the Croatian Men’s national team. He is also a well-known chess author.
