Rook versus separated knight In previous positions we already encountered this case and noticed it requires subtle maneuvering to take the full point. Important is to use zugzwang and mating threats to push away opponent’s knight into a deadly trapp or luring it into a double attack. White pieces are always centralized. We will check few more instructive examples. First is I. Berger study from 1890., position similar to the ones from two last examples.
